Responsibilities:
- Participate in the screening, evaluation, assessment, and health care of inmates.
- Provide treatment and administer medications following physician and mid-level orders.
- Initiate appropriate actions in emergency situations.
- Perform specific nursing tasks, such as intravenous insertion and care, venipuncture, and vital signs.
- Responsible for complete and accurate documentation of care provided in the inmate's health record.
- Maintain health services records logs and assist with data entry within the scope of nursing-related items.
- Coordinate with medical and ancillary personnel as required to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accountability of all controlled substances and prescription medications according to federal and state laws and organizational regulations.
- Follow established patient care protocols, and observe federal, state, and county policies, regulations, and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
