Role: Cash Application Specialist

A Northern NJ based media company is looking for a cash application specialist. Candidate will be processing and applying customer payment information in an accurate, timely and confidential manner to ensure correct balances are reflected on the customer's account and daily cash balancing can take place. Responsible for all processes related to cash receipts including receipts, applications, deposits, lockbox, reconciliations, unapplied funds resolution, adjustments and reporting. Provide prompt reliable and courteous assistance to the Collections team when questions and/or research items arise. Timeliness, accuracy and sense of urgency are critical for this position.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for daily application of cash receipts and credit card payments, reconciliations, daily application of unapplied payments and adjustments.
• Resolve and apply unapplied unidentified receipts in a timely manner.
• Apply unapplied cash receipts requests provided by Business Managers and Collectors.
• Daily review and weekly distribution of the cash due reports and receivable aging reports.
• Responsible for creating new accounts and assisting with code request from Sales and Collections.
• Monthly review of receivable aging reports and account reconciliations.
• Process bank and in-house scanner deposits.
• Process and reconcile credit card payments while insuring privacy and security of client account data.
• Perform daily reports or adjustments as needed.
• Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned. Assist department when workload requires.

Requirements:

• BS Business degree preferred.
• Minimum three years accounts receivable experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of automated A/R systems and spreadsheet applications.
• Must be detail oriented and possess analytical processing skills.
• Good communication and written skills.
