Addison Group is Hiring an AV Technician Near Washington, DC

Our client is seeking an IT-AV Support Technician who will deliver end-to-end support to employees, event attendees, and guests in accordance with Service Level Agreements and expectations for quality customer service. The AV/IT Support Technician will be expected to provide support for facilitating Zoom meetings and events.

Job responsibilities :

  • Focus on the support of users, endpoint devices, audiovisual, and other staff-facing systems operating at local facilities.
  • Support onsite and offsite special events – both small and large - in theaters, auditorium halls and conference rooms on customer premise and other customer-associated venues.
  • Repair/maintenance of all customer audio visual systems.
  • Support installation of temporary and permanent exhibits.
  • Create, maintain, and catalog technical system documentation.
  • Support system upgrades and associated testing throughout audio visual estate.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs/replacement with vendors as needed.
  • Compress and digitize audio and video data.
  • Ensure the safe storage and integrity of data.

Required experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience coordinating/supporting live events/productions or installing/supporting/troubleshooting integrated audio-visual solutions
  • Ability to interact professionally and confidently with senior officials/executives and other VIPs
  • Experience working onsite & remotely performing system commissioning, staging, programming, testing and integration.
  • General competency/knowledge of major AV vendor hardware and their product’s functionality
  • Working knowledge of Crestron, AMX, Medialon control systems; Biamp, Ashly, Symmetrix, Crestron, and/or QSC audio DSPs (certifications a plus)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to accommodate flexible working schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Proficient with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite
  • May require occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)
  • Requires extensive sitting, standing and walking
  • Some travel requiring multi-night stays within and at times outside the local work area
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be willing to complete background checks and drug tests required by current or future contracts.
  • CTS or other industry recognized certifications a plus
