JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN/DRIVER
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The primary role of the Behavioral Heath Technician (BHT) is in providing direct and supportive services to both female and/or male drug and alcohol abusers the two main functions of the BHT are 1. Driving clients to and from facility 2. Assisting in managing the environment so that it is safe and therapeutic. The BHT is responsible for a variety of routine, basic tasks essential to the smooth operation of the program.
Work is performed in accordance with established regulations, policies and procedures, but employees are expected to exercise significant initiative and independent judgment in discharging duties. Work is reviewed by the Clinical Director or the Administrator through an evaluation of the timely and accurate completion of assignments.

DUTIES:
Supportive Services to Clients
· Behavioral Technician/Driver is responsible for safe operation and maintenance of vehicles entrusted to their care
· Drive clients to and from facility
· Assists in supervision of client activities and be aware of client whereabouts at all times, including breaks and internal activities.
· Attend all mandatory trainings and in-house conferences/seminars as directed by supervisor/designee
· When working at the clinical offices, empties trash cans, picks up garbage on the property
· Maintains order and ensures compliance with rules and regulations; ensures that clients conduct themselves in an orderly manner when on agency property or in agency vehicles.
· Provides appropriate support and structure for clients in dealing with their recovery; interacts continually with clients
· Escorts clients on in-house meetings (some outside meetings, if applicable)
· Escorts clients within building or to hospital or other services (if applicable)
· Enforces program rules at all times
· Reports any client behavioral issues to clinical staff
· Responds appropriately to all medical and other emergencies
· Reports to the supervisor any discrepancies in client’s whereabouts
· Confiscates and secures any contraband found and notifies the appropriate supervisor.
· Performs other duties, tasks and services as assigned by supervisor/designee
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A valid drivers license is a must
Education and Training: High school diploma or GED. Knowledge
Drug and Alcohol abuse
Sobriety: If recovering, minimum two years
Continuous sobriety
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
