The Charge Registered Nurse is a vital member of the System of Care. The Charge Registered Nurse is responsible for overseeing and directing in collaboration with the Center Director the other RN/LPN/CNA/Medical Assistant/Healthcare Specialists to ensure the safety and well-being of persons served/clients as they go through the rehabilitation process.

What qualifications you will need 

  • Active license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Kentucky 
  • 2 or more years of experience as a Registered Nurse preferred
  • 1 Year Supervisor Experience

What you will do in this role

  • Conducts and or delegates assignment of nursing assessments and monitors clients 
  • Maintains accurate records of Medication management training and competency 
  • Ensure appropriate Precautions are initiated and followed 
  • Facilitates health education groups, including general health education and medication/drug interactions 
  • Educates medical and center staff how to observe and assess clients for clinical signs and symptoms of withdrawal and changes in condition 
  • Ensures compliance with scheduling appointments with physicians and mental health providers as well as external emergent appointments 
  • Participate in the RN on-call rotation as needed and field calls after hours for the assigned center 
  • Verify that medication refills to pharmacy as ordered by the provider 
  • Verify refills and new prescriptions with the staff physician 
  • Ensure compliance with Logged medications and maintain an accurate medication logbook 
  • Maintain a medical first aid kit 
  • Train and verify nursing encounter documentation
  • Communicate with Nurse Manager and Medical Leadership Team as needed 
  • Monitor/audit persons served/client behavior during medication administration 
  • Ensure completion all medical notes same day of service 
  • Ensure completion of nursing assessment within 24 hours of intake for persons served/clients 
  • Ensure Treatment Team compliance from medical
  • Ensure CCRs are completed and compliant 
  • Ensure lockers and locks are inventoried and assigned correctly
  • Discuss any corrective action needs with the Center Director and VP of Medical Operations
  • Ensure GI and Vivitrol referrals are being completed timely
  • Ensure compliance with 340b medications 
  • Participate in staff and state regulatory training as required 
  • Adhere to program policies and procedures while maintaining a professional code of ethics
  • The Charge Registered Nurse is expected to protect the privacy of all persons served/client information in accordance with Addiction Recovery Care, LLC/ Odyssey, Inc.’s privacy policies, procedures, and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a healthcare provider. 
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license
