Position: Early Childhood Preschool Instructor-part time

Reports to: Preschool Director

Starting Salary: $20,600

Overview: Addenbrooke Classical Academy is seeking a part time (7:15-12:15 am) Early Childhood Preschool Instructor.

This position reports to the Preschool Director. The Early Childhood Preschool Instructor is responsible for managing the students learning and creating an environment with high standards in learning, creativity and personal growth in accordance with each student's abilities, while carrying out the mission and vision of the school.

Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

● Plan and implement weekly lesson plans using the curriculum as a guide using assessments to guide your planning

● Use age-appropriate instructional strategies and materials suitable for differing abilities

● Provide direct supervision to children ages 3-12 years old

● Maintain and update all requirements of Colorado Department of Human Services for Early Childhood

Instructor

● Provides individual and group instruction

● Communicates with parents through a variety of means

● Work collaboratively with teaching teammates and administrative staff

● Motivated and willing to teach and work with students with all types of needs

● Provide supervision for students ages 3-13 during Before Care

● Follows all policies and procedures established by the Addenbrooke Classical Academy Board of

Directors and Administration

Skills/Ability:

● Understand best practice for varying age groups

● Experience or demonstrates ability working as part of a multidisciplinary team

● Uses a variety of instructional strategies (e.g. direct instruction, cooperative learning, small group instruction, individualized instruction, inquiry) to engage students

● Uses a repertoire of assessment strategies to determine what students have and will learn

● Demonstrates experience in effectively solving challenging problems through a positive, collaborative approach

● Demonstrates initiative and skills in the following areas: relationship and community building, teachers as leaders, professional learning community model, effective communication, conflict resolution, creativity, problem solving, decision making and time management

Experience/Qualifications:

Highly Qualified Status

● High School Diploma

● Early Childhood Teacher Qualified (as defined by licensing regulations through the Colorado

Department of Human Services)

● PDIS Credential Rating of 2 or above (or willingness to obtain a credential rating)

● 1-year experience working with children ages 3-5 years old

● Familiarity with the school's charter and full agreement with the school's educational philosophy
