We have an immediate requirement for Registered Nurses (RNs) for the Maine Army National Guard (MEARNG) for a youth Camp at Gilead, ME
Period of Performance: 13 July 2024 to 26 July 2024.
Responsibilities

• RNs will oversee a designated medical room and provide basic medical care for approximately 50 Adults and 100 Children (youth).
• Maintain a clean medical room and personal sleeping area at all times.
• Provide precise management of prescribed, OTC, and standing order medications.
• Coordinate and communicate care of attendees with guardians and camp staff.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans while monitoring healthcare and maintaining health records.
• Work with 1-2 health care assistants provided by the Maine Army National Guard.
• Provide daily reports to Camp Coordinators of injuries and health concerns of camp participants.
• Man the medical room, with at least one nurse, 24hrs during the duration of the camp.
• attend week one of staff training that is held on 13 July 2024 but are not required to attend the second week of staff training on 20 July 2024.

Qualifications

• Candidate(s) must have a Valid Maine Registered Nurse (RN) or Compact RN License.
• RN must hold liability insurance per 52.237-7 Indemnification and Medical Liability Insurance.
• Candidate(s) must have experience in patient records histories, perform various diagnostic tests, administer medications, and develop patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals.
• RNs shall have at least one year of pediatric school or camp nursing experience.
• RNs shall Possess a current adult and pediatric CPR certification that does not expire during the duration of the camp.
• RNs shall have good communication skills with both adults and children (e.g., campers, parents, camp staff, and other medical providers).
