About our program:

Adapted Advantage is an Adult Day Program for individuals with intellectual disabilities. We focus on community integration through recreational, choice, and interest-based activities.

We are looking for an employee who: considers themselves to be creative, has the ability to self-start, stay active, and takes a proactive approach to redirecting client behavior within our community-based day program. This employee needs to be assertive and have a clear authoritative voice while maintaining professionalism and compassion for the clients we serve. This needs to be an individual that has no reservations about working with clients that have the potential to be physically aggressive, verbally aggressive, and sometimes self-injurious. Thorough training will be provided on each individual that is worked with and team support is always available as well. Services will be throughout Lake, Summit, and Cuyahoga Counties.

Job Duty Requirements Include:

  • Clear all DODD required checks and clear background with no disqualifying offenses
  • Good Driving Record with less than 6 points
  • Ability to pass a required drug test
  • Ability to bend, kneel and lift 50 pounds
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to make clear decisions quickly based on risk management assessments.
  • Willingness to work with adults that have intellectual disabilities and redirect any behaviors associated with their diagnosis. (Training will be provided)
  • Positive Attitude and Outgoing Personality
  • Determination to provide quality service to the individuals we serve within the program and remain professional with their guardians, state/county representatives, and co-workers/peers.
  • Ability to be physically active throughout the workday including (but not limited to) pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, and walking.
  • Comfortable working within a laid-back environment with an ability to be versatile when plans change
  • Create and facilitate community activities based upon clients’ interests and abilities

Benefits: Paid time off, 10 paid holidays, $100 weekly health stipend after 90 day probation period.
