Description

Position Summary

The Audit Senior Manager is expected to correctly perform routine engagement procedures in a timely and professional manner, demonstrate the ability to recognize sensible solutions, with appropriate balance between clients’ needs and the firm’s risk. Individual must be able to meet assigned deadlines or budgets and provide advanced warning of variances. An Audit Senior Manager demonstrates the ability to work well with others especially in the capacity to command the confidence and respect of clients, partners, staff, and administrative support personnel. He/she trains and encourages staff members not only on a day-to-day basis, but also for the long-term by serving as a mentor, this requires balancing assigned workload between self and staff. He/she must be able to provide forward-looking services that are creative and innovative.

This position will work primarily within the Construction & Real Estate Industry Line. Construction and/or Real Estate experience is preferred. The position may be located in Wichita KS, Little Rock AR, or Jonesboro AR.

Requirements

Required Experience and Education

Either “FASB” or “Commercial” and/or “Not-for-Profit” experience or Governmental auditing is desired, as is experience in Yellow Book and Single Audits. A current and valid CPA license is required. Must be a member in good standing with the American Institute of CPAs and respective state societies. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting and approximately 8 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 7 years of related work experience, preferably with approximately 4 of those years as an auditor with a public accounting firm. Needs excellent project management skills, advanced written and verbal communication skills, dedication to teamwork and leadership and integrity within a professional environment.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop/maintain strong working relationships with key business decision makers throughout the year to communicate value and inform them of the firm’s scope of services
  • Provide guidance/expertise and participation in the performance of audit procedures, especially focusing on complex and/or specialized issues
  • Demonstrate excellence in executive presence, people development, leadership and professionalism
  • Collaborate to plan objectives and determine an audit strategy that appropriately addresses risk
  • Establish the expectations of the value to be delivered
  • Successfully monitor the audit engagement team against the budget, and alter if necessary
  • Identify/communicate relevant trends, developments, and key performance drivers relevant to the audit client
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the audit client’s industry and marketplace
  • Develop people by effectively delegating to all levels of the audit team staff and by encouraging audit team members to make determinations and take responsibility for their contribution to the audit team
  • Conduct audit team performance reviews, serve as a positive leader and mentor, and contribute to audit team performance feedback/training
  • Foster teamwork and lead by example
  • Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with audit team members, and enhance service delivery
  • Maintain an educational program to continually develop skills
  • Maintain cooperative relationships with other audit engagement teams
  • Monitor the audit engagement team’s progress against the plan and alter it when needed
  • Generate new business opportunities by developing ideas and solutions
  • Achieve growth by understanding Adams, Brown, Beran and Ball, Chtd. and its services lines and actively assessing/presenting way to apply knowledge and services
  • Develop long-term relationships and networks both internally and externally

Working Environment

Adams Brown, LLC promotes a flexible work environment with a deep commitment to technology and modern work arrangements. Our offices are open from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday through tax season and close at noon on Fridays outside of tax season. We are closed on major holidays, offer substantial paid-time-off, a comprehensive benefit package, competitive pay structure, and a culture of growth, clarity, and respect.

Additional hours are required. There may be occasional overnight travel out-of-town.
