Adams Hometown Markets is Hiring an Adams Seafood Manager - Milford Near Milford, CT
Position Overview: Full-time Position As a Seafood Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the seafood department within the retail setting of a grocery store. You will be responsible for ensuring quality and freshness of seafood products while providing excellent customer service. You will be driving labor efficiency, sales and gross profit margins in alignment with the store. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Builds and maintains customer satisfaction with the product and services offered by the company.
Maintain a safe, happy, full, fresh and clean department
Maintain sales floor, preparation, equipment and storage areas that are clean, orderly and meeting company and health department standards at all times
Train and supervise seafood department staff ensuring adherence to established procedures , safety, and customer service standards
Schedule and coordinate shifts to have proper coverage
Provide ongoing coaching, performance management and feedback to encourage growth and development
Implement and enforce cleanliness standards in the seafood department.
Monitoring sales performance and implement strategies to maximize profitability
Monitor seafood inventory levels, ordering products such as but not limited to various seafood products to maintain a diverse and stocked selection based on sales trends, customer preferences and seasonal availability
Conducting regular inventory counts, managing overstock and minimizing shrink
Implement inventory control measures to minimize and ensure freshness
Ensuring proper handling, storage and rotation of seafood to minimize waste and maintain optimal quality
Oversee the butchery, processing and production of seafood products, ensuring products are prepared based on company standards
Arrange seafood in an organized and visually appealing manner while following the store merchandising plan and seasonal themes and sale promotions
Monitor the quality and freshness of seafood to meet and/or exceed customer expectations
Handle customer inquiries, concerns and special requests in a prompt and professional manner
Communicate with store management regarding inventory, sales and any issues within the department
Support the meat department team with various meat department tasks as assigned by leadership including but not limited to processing chicken, pork, sausage, hamburger, gourmet products, and signature items
Adhere to all company safety standards
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Experience:
Preferred: One (1) year seafood management or seafood sales experience
ServeSafe certification or comparable
Skills:
Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; walking on a variety of flooring such as concrete, tile, carpet etc
Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Working in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest quality
Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives
Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift
