The Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse is responsible for the coordination of total nursing care for patients admitted to the ICU. This includes providing support to the patient and family in the dying process. The RN will perform an admission assessment and subsequent assessment in a systemized, organized, and timely manner. Formulates a nursing diagnosis based on accessible, communicable, and recorded data. Plans care which includes goals and prioritizes nursing approaches or measures derived from the nursing diagnosis. Implements strategies to provide for patient participation in health capabilities, maintenance, and restoration. Evaluates with the patient the status of goal achievement as a basis for reassessment, reordering priorities, new goal setting, and revision of the plan of nursing care. Seeks educational resources, and creates learning experience to enhance and maintain current knowledge and skill for his or her continuing competence in nursing practice and individual professional growth. The Intensive Care Unit Staff Nurse recognizes his or her role and participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team working towards attaining Adams Memorial Hospital’s mission, vision, and values.
This position will be re-evaluated every 3 months based on the needs of the ICU.
Requirements:
PRN
Commit to 15 shifts per schedule period and participate in the holiday rotation
Valid RN license in the State of Indiana
BLS/CPR certification with ACLS & PALS certification within 6 months of hire
