AD HOC RESEARCH is Hiring a Technical Production Control Specialist Near Lakewood, CO

Employee serves as a Technical Production Control Specialist.

The incumbent works in direct support of the development and maintenance of Mainframe JCL (Job Control Language) and BMC Control-M Schedular applications and utilities. Along with DataMart, QuickTime (Time and Attendance) application, and TRMS (Total Report Management System). Responsible for running production and test schedules as needed and working with File Transfer protocols.

Oversees all complex processing procedures executed for the FPPS system on the IBM Enterprise Server. Provides technical expertise and performs studies to analyze system performance finding cost saving advances that still maintain the accuracy, quality and timeliness that is expected by all internal and external clients.

Researches software advances to keep FPPS current. Presents to management when findings indicate, upgrades or new technologies are found to be useful. Manages group discussion and coordinates change if feasible and approved by management.

Supports the maintenance of the Job Control Language (JCL) for the FPPS system on the IBM Enterprise Server at an expert level. Based on modifications to functional requirements, the incumbent participates in the development of change specifications and modifies the appropriate JCL specifications to (test environment and eventually production once testing is completed) incorporate approved new requirements. Supports the design and resolution of interface requirements, and the coordination of common JCL requirements. Identifies any failure points, restart ability, and restore requirements. Conducts initial research to isolate and identify test failures. Assists in JCL redesign studies.

Supports resolution of user processing problems when necessary. To include reconstructing appropriate conditions to test any modifications to programs in order to apply those changes in an accurate and timely manner. Coordinates solutions with other information technology specialist and functional specialist to resolve interface problems. Perform analyzes of production and test processing for performance improvements.

Must be able to communicate and cooperate with others on the team and other support groups and outside agencies, achieving excellent customer service to everyone we work with and for.

Other applications that are used:

REXX mainframe language to create, review, and maintain programs and ISPF panels

SAS programming language to create, review and maintain programs.

Microsoft Office programs and macros using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and associated Office libraries to efficiently maintain documentation of production and testing environments

Proprietary scripting languages and programming languages such as Visual Basic

BMC Control-M products and job scheduling on both z/OS mainframe and Unix systems.

Formatting languages to create, modify, and maintain various webpages using HTML, XML, and CSS

Performs adequate encryption for email transfers, ensuring any Personal Identifiable Information (PII) is kept confidential. Accuracy and timeliness is critical to receipt of output by customers of PPSD. Other Transfer methods include: FileTransfer Protocol s(FTP), Secure Transport and Connect-Direct data transmissions. Diagnosing, trouble-shooting and resolve problems on the spot to ensure input and output products are properly received or sent.

Incumbent may also be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.

Operate with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.

Contribute to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.

Plan and lead major technology assignments.

Evaluate performance results and recommend major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.

Function as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.

May lead or supervise others.
