Acutronic is looking for an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Austin, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, and testing of electromechanical actuation systems used for motion control applications within the aerospace and defense industry. Working under the supervision of senior engineers, you will contribute to various stages of the product lifecycle, from conceptualization to production.

Mechanical Engineer I

Your Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed mechanical design of EM actuation systems including:
    • Gearing and bearing design and analysis
    • Structural analysis
    • Analysis and specification of ancillary EM components (clutches, brakes, position sensors, etc.)
    • Tolerance stack-up of precision assemblies
  • Support proposal efforts in a fast-paced aerospace environment
  • Creation and ownership of CAD models
  • Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) (structural and thermal)
  • Create detailed component and assembly drawings

Your Profile/Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university, required
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, preferred
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in a relevant field, preferred
  • Professional, customer centric attitude and communication
