Acute Wound Care is Hiring a DME Coordinator / Clinical Liaison Near Springs, FL

Position Summary
Small privately-owned home care and durable medical equipment company looking for a clinical liaison. The Clinical liaison is responsible for overseeing all incoming physician orders for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring timely order processing, review of clinical documentation, and data entry of durable medical equipment. The Clinical Liaison will provide the highest level of customer service to patients, physicians, and all office personnel. Communicating clearly to patients and providers to see through the order process until the equipment is ready to schedule. The Clinical Liaison will facilitate the order process between our office , HH , and physician to assist with coordination of care for the patients treatment.

Essential Duties

  • Communicates with referral source, DME, HH, and physician office to process all certifications, orders, and required information. Must be able to provide a high level of product knowledge and educate patients with the equipment they are receiving.
  • Ensures that all necessary documentation is obtained as it relates to payer requirements, standard operation procedures and compliance programs. Assists with troubleshooting.
  • Performs clinical skills as guided by competency validation.
  • Thoroughly reviews all medical necessity documentation and resolves unexpected patient flow issues.
  • Coordinates telephone communication with patients, families, referring providers and other members of the health team; utilize follow-up system to assure care follow up and coordination is accomplished; tasking by utilizing task assigned call backs relaying messages from the clinical licensed professional.
  • Responsible for timely administrative functions to support clinic: setting up any repair cases with manufacturer and communicating with patient through the process to set up the repair. OR troubleshoot any patient related question of product use.
  • Provides and documents appropriate education to patients/families utilizing effective teaching skills, scripted teaches.
  • Works will all members of the team to communicate on each patient order throughout the process.

Other Duties

  • Cross trained to provide coverage for staff absences and vacancies, as necessary.
  • May be assigned to work on additional projects and tasks, as necessary.
  • Attend monthly meetings for education on Durable Medical Equipment (DME).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma/GED required. Successful graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Work Experience: One (2) year of healthcare experience required. DME experience preferred.
