Acute Physical Therapy is Hiring a Referral Coordinator Near Alpharetta, GA

Acute Physical Therapy is a physical therapy network that provides convenient and exceptional care to patients in need. At APT our team bridges the gap between attorneys, physicians, and our network of independently owned physical therapy clinics.

We are looking for an organized, self-motivated, and highly driven professional to add value to our team and company.

Job Summary:

The Referral Coordinator acts as a liaison for APT and our network of physical therapy clinics to provide a completely seamless experience for patients. They are expected to utilize exemplary phone courtesy and accurate record keeping to allow the flow of communication between our coordinators, referral providers, clinics, and case management teams to prosper. The Referral Coordinator is organized, able to escalate priority issues, and can clearly report on patient progress. This role will also perform a variety of clerical, recordkeeping, and customer service tasks to assist with the smooth operation of the organization.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversees email inbox.
  • Fields all incoming patient calls and transfers to applicable parties.
  • Calls patients to gather required information and determine closest clinic location.
  • Educates patients on the referral process and answers any questions they have.
  • Monitors pending referrals report and sends information to clinics.
  • Tracks retrieval of all missing signatures.
  • Monitors patient evaluation dates and times.
  • Updates providers with new developments or issues.
  • New firm liaison for case management.
  • Follows up on clinic correspondence and needs.
  • Records clinic interactions in CRM.
  • Follows up on provider or clinic correspondence in CRM and emails.
  • Notifies management of any existing or potential errors in CRM.
  • Reports on department analytics and details in meetings with management.
  • Coordinates with Billing & Medical Records departments on patient statuses and notes.
  • Ensures work is conducted in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Completes other projects and duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to generate and monitor reports.
  • Ability to type at least 50 wpm.
  • Ability to proofread.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Basic understanding of Adobe software.
  • Basic understanding of office equipment.
  • Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.

Education and Experience:

  • Bilingual Required: English and Spanish.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
  • 2 years of medical administrative work required.
  • 2 years of customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience in hospitality and customer service environments preferred.
  • Prior medical intake experience, preferably in a spine or orthopedics practice.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Additional Benefits:

Ability to work remotely on Fridays after 90-Day review.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
