We are looking for a Data Operations Technical Writer who is interested in combining their passions for health care data, technical writing, process development, and cross-functional coordination. In this role you will work closely with technical leads and analysts on the Data Operations team, subject matter experts in Acumen’s Research department, and project managers on the Research Operations team.

Leveraging the Data Operation team’s existing data lifecycle frameworks, you will build, scale, and improve workflows to shape how the company transforms data into powerful insights for policy decision-making. You will also own documentation efforts for technical operations, healthcare data products, and data investigations, ensuring that expertise is accessible company-wide. Aiding these two capabilities, you will lead stakeholder communications to build the Data Operations’ teams presence at the company.

Successful candidates will be confident pulling insights from complicated data and policy landscapes, including diving into, analyzing, and synthesizing technical details. Strong communicators and team players that value learning and growth will also be successful on our team. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Technical Writing. In close partnership with technical subject matter experts across Research and Data Operations teams, draft, edit, and disseminate documentation on data operations (SOPs, data acquisition diagrams, workflow documents), data products (data dictionaries, product specifications, methodology workbooks, QA reports, user guides, supplemental policy documentation), and data investigations (data comparison analyses, research finding summaries). Tailor resources to diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
• Process Development. Develop, maintain, and improve operational workflows for end-to-end data lifecycle processes, including data acquisition and intake, data cleaning, data investigations, research file generation, validation, and data archiving/storage.
• Cross-Functional Coordination. Be the go-to point of contact across stakeholders to push forward data documentation projects, acquisition set-ups, and workflow development processes. Develop meeting agendas and notes, and lead email and meeting communications to ensure alignment across groups.
• ·User Support. Connect with end-users of data products to discuss new resources, solicit feedback on documentation, and understand upcoming documentation needs. Research stakeholder questions and requests on data and/or policy documentation and compile responses.

• You have 1-3 years of experience with technical writing, cross-functional communications, and/or operations.
• You are a strong writer that is able to sift through technical details and develop accessible insights for various technical and non-technical audiences. A technical background is not required, but a level of comfort working with technical concepts is a must.

The salary range for this position is $50,000-$110,000.
