Overview

Acuity, Inc. seeks dynamic, self-motivated individuals with experience as Software Quality Assurance Specialist/Applications Tester. The Client requires support to design, build, and deploy a bi-directional AWS API Gateway capable of sending and pulling data from various source systems over a secure network. You will work closely with over forty interface partners across different organizations and agencies, in defining interface requirements, building a to-be architecture, performing comprehensive system testing, and ultimately, deploying an integrated internal and external facing API Gateway across two different agencies on the same classification network. This project is part of an overall Client effort to migrate portions or all of payroll systems to a new-shared service provider. Priorities will be managed by the designated Government Technical Manager (GTM).

Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing: 

Responsibilities:

• Shall plan, design, and develop a cloud-based AWS API Gateway capable of moving data from multiple source systems to a shared service provider.
• Shall work with the Client’s engineering team to identify and implement a cloud-based solution for the API gateway.
• Shall use APIs to design Representational State Transfer (REST) services and integrate them with existing data providers using JSON, XML or other software.
• Shall design, develop, and implement scalable, elastic micro services based platforms.
• Shall dissect existing Java applications.
• Shall develop micro services for specific system functionality.
• Shall provide technical guidance to less senior developers.
• Shall develop detailed program specifications, design, and interface control documents.
• Shall design, develop, and brief technical strategies.
• Shall provide technical guidance and coordination across multiple development teams to meet project objectives.
• Shall review and analyze documentation to create detailed test plans, procedures, and Requirements Verification Traceability Matrixes (RVTM) to support testing activities.
• Shall test the consumption of external APIs or data as it passes through the gateway.
• Shall work collaboratively with partners to plan, coordinate, and conduct test activities.
• Shall investigate and create discrepancy reports.
• Shall perform thorough system, interface, user acceptance, and regression testing.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Demonstrated experience analyzing technical documents and preparing test strategies.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing and analyzing requirements documentation.
• Demonstrated experience writing test plans, procedures, scenarios, and RVTMs.
• Demonstrated experience conducting manual or automated testing of complex systems.
• Demonstrated experience comprehensively documenting test findings.
• Demonstrated experience with system, interface, user acceptance, and regression testing.
• Demonstrated experience with functional and regression testing.

Preferred Skills:

• Demonstrated experience writing automated tests using a programming language such as Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Demonstrated experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery.
