We're looking for an individual to join the team and help bring that vision to a wide audience.

As Senior Product Manager at ActiveState, you’ll be a key member of the Product Management team. In this role, you are responsible for gathering and prioritizing requirements for the product, helping to define the vision for the ActiveState Platform, and collaborating with other business stakeholders in order to ensure that both customer satisfaction and business goals are met. You’ll work as a key member of a cross-functional team, with a mission of making ActiveState’s customers have an exceptional experience when working with the ActiveState Platform. You will hold a key part of delivering innovative features within the DevOps and DevSecOps space, and define and deliver on the next generation of the ActiveState Platform.

This position is open to full-time telecommuters anywhere in Canada or continental US time zones. You can also choose to work from our headquarters in beautiful Vancouver, BC.

What you’ll be doing

• Own strategy and roadmap
• Work with the team and stakeholders to translate the vision into a series of well-defined stories that are rigorously prioritized.
• Own the product requirements and drive the product life cycle from design to product launch.
• Communicate clearly and coordinate regularly with all stakeholders within the company including Sales and Marketing to ensure alignment with wider product goals, to deliver a high-quality product on time.
• Coordinate and engage in user and market research to validate your hypotheses.
• Manage trade-offs between market trends, customer needs and technical needs while prioritizing the features to be added to the product roadmap.
• Craft minimum viable changes (MVC’s) to be made iteratively to our platform.

Your Education, Experience, Skills and Attributes

• Bachelor's (or higher level) degree in computer science/engineering or in related field preferred
• Experience in Developer Tools and SaaS product management
• Familiar with DevOps, DevSecOps or secure software supply chain
• Familiar with tooling used in the SDLC: git, modern build tools, package managers (e.g., pip, rubygems, maven, npm, etc.), artifact repositories (e.g., Artifactory, Nexus, etc.), security tools (e.g., SCA, SAST, DAST, etc.)
• Knowledge of open source software ecosystem and business models
• Familiar with language ecosystems such as: Python, Perl, Java, Go
• Strong background with agile software development processes and tools
