We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing precision parts for both in-house and customer use, adhering to specified drawings, instructions, and procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience with both manual and CNC-operated fabrication equipment.

Essential Duties:

• Review routing, work orders, blueprints, Bill of Material, or other work specifications to understand part requirements.
• Compute fabrication dimensions and plan the sequence of work steps accordingly.
• Retrieve necessary materials and components from the Toolcrib area as needed.
• Measure and mark raw metal blocks for machining work using required measurement devices.
• Set up and operate both manual and CNC machinery to fabricate parts according to instructions.
• Perform heat treatment on final parts as necessary.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure dimensional quality compliance.
• Assemble final parts using fasteners and hand tools as per routing instructions.
• Smooth and polish flat and contoured surfaces of final parts using appropriate abrasive tools.
• Plan for corrective action in case of deviations from component quality standards.
• Implement corrective action by making prescribed adjustments as directed.
• Maintain a clean work station throughout each shift.
• Understand and follow all quality-related standards and documentation.
• Determine the proper disposition of non-conforming products as directed.
• Provide instruction on applied machining procedures to coworkers as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
• Proficient machining skills acquired through formal instruction from a vocational school, technical center, high school, state/association apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machinery.
• Advanced understanding of print schematics/blueprints.
• Proficiency in shop math, including trigonometry, metric conversions, and linear measurement.
• Ability to handle extensive troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Comfortable working with the pressure of deadlines and able to handle repetitive activities with concentration and patience.
• Willingness to undergo on-the-job training, cross-training, and training other toolmakers.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to read, comprehend, and carry out detailed instructions, both written and oral.
• Physically capable of meeting the demands of the job, including good hand/eye coordination, fine manipulation, close/color vision, minimal fumes, moderate noise, lifting up to 50 pounds, moderate bending and stooping, standing, and sitting.

Equipment Used:

Drills, mills, lathes, various hand-held and measuring tools, die trucks, etc. Other equipment may be assigned.
