We are currently seeking a versatile and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a small family practice, we are looking for someone who is flexible, open to learning, and supporting the staff in what may be needed. This role combines administrative duties with clinical tasks, offering a unique opportunity to engage in both patient care and office management.
Responsibilities
Administrative Duties:
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
- Greet patients and manage check-in/check-out processes.
- Maintain electronic and paper patient records with confidentiality.
- Handle phone calls, emails, and other communications.
Clinical Tasks:
- Obtain vital signs independently including: blood pressure, weight, respiratory rate, pulse, temperature, weight, height.
- Assist providers during examinations and office procedures as needed.
- Perform point-of-care testing including: urinalysis, strep testing, hCG testing, glucose test
- Perform electrocardiogram testing and phlebotomy as determined by provider.
- Administer age-based vaccinations and injections (vitamin B12) as necessary.
- Maintains medical supply inventory and performing preventative maintenance to keep medical equipment operating
- Return patient phone calls or assist with care coordination as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Certification in Medical Assisting or experience preferred.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in medical software and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare practices.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to patient care and privacy regulations.
