We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sandblaster to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for removing paint, rust, and other material build-ups from rough surfaces using specialized equipment that sprays abrasive materials. The material is typically a mixture of coarse sand and compressed air, which is forced through a hose at high pressure to smooth or clean the surface. We offer a flexible work schedule with both first and second shifts available, each consisting of four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday.

Responsibilities

• Preparing surfaces for sandblasting by cleaning them of debris and masking specific areas that should not be blasted.
• Using abrasive equipment to remove paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt.
• Setting up and operating a blast booth or similar equipment.
• Loading and unloading the blast cabinet and/or booth.
• Assisting with painting or coating as needed.
• Applying and removing non-skid materials as needed.
• Preventing surface damage and ensuring the safety of co-workers.
• Cleaning grease and dirt from products.
• Maintaining a clean and organized workspace by returning tools and pallets to their proper storage areas and performing daily cleaning tasks.
• Completing other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a sandblaster preferred.
• Ability to operate sandblasting equipment.
• Excellent physical stamina and strength.
• Good eyesight and color vision.
• Efficient time management skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in safety protocols.
• Ability to read technical drawings.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
