Action for Boston Community Development, Inc.,... is Hiring a Grants Director Near Boston, MA

Key Responsibilities:
  • Write funding proposals and related materials, as needed.
  • Develop and manage systems for identification of grant funding opportunities.
  • Coordinate grant funding plans with agency strategic aims. 
  • Develop and manage systems for tracking and processing grant proposals.
  • Develop and manage tools and processes for effective coordination of grant-writing activities across ABCD departments and programs.
  • Develop strong working relationships with funders with special reference to private corporate and foundation sources.
  • Assist in management of donor records systems.
  • Assist in assessment of fundraising needs for ABCD Departments and Neighborhood Network agencies.
  • Assist in technical assistance and support to ABCD departments and Neighborhood Network agencies, as requested.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in management or relevant social science discipline, and a minimum of five to ten years’ of progressively responsible experience in grants management and/or development is required.
  • Knowledge of Boston social service systems and of funding sources for human services.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a busy, multi-tasking environment which requires self-direction and good judgment.
  • Exceptional research, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of donor records systems.
  • Supervisory experience in a professional office setting. 
  • Flexibility, initiative, and ability to work in a team required. 
  • Ability to deal sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.
