Actapio, Inc. is Hiring a Network Specialist Near East Wenatchee, WA

Maintains the integrity and security of a company's computer system network and the systems connected to it. Evaluates systems, looking for glitches or disturbances; analyzes technical issues; and develops solutions. Establishes network specifications by consulting with end-users and defines the policies and procedures of the network. Analyzes workflow and security requirements and designs router administration. Examines network performance issues such as availability, expectancy, utilization, and output. Tests, evaluates, configures, and installs network enhancements to ensure that they are the best choices; and establishes connections and firewalls. Troubleshoots network problems and enhances performance for users via performance tuning. Implements secure network access protocols and monitors and evaluates them for issues. Utilizes documentation and record keeping skills. Conducts relevant training sessions and provides helpful references and support in order to prepare users to utilize the network safely. Upgrades the network by consulting with vendors about products to determine which ones would be best to purchase. Keeps current on knowledge in field of expertise; participates in relevant educational opportunities such as live classes and webinars, reads professional publications, networks with other professionals, and maintains active memberships in professional organizations.
Network RelatedPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Arrangement of equipment according to Network configuration and cable layout design, and physical installation of equipment and cabling work.
  • Ensuring secure and stable server connectivity and testing network protocols.
  • Creating internet domains and optimizing intranet performance.
  • Testing data exchange and communication between computers, routers, modems, and servers.
  • Installing, updating, and configuring end-user networking accessories.
  • Monitoring server capacity and performance to keep up with demand in online traffic.
  • Running diagnostic tests and performing repairs, as well as developing backup, archiving, and data retrieval procedures.
  • Training junior IT staff, preparing user manuals, and providing remote or onsite technical support.
  • Enhancing network security, as well as documenting network processes and cabling layouts.
  • Keeping informed of developments in network technologies and infrastructure.
  • Install hardware and software to address any issues.
Datacenter Related
  • Assist with selection and negotiation of contractors for construction of new server rooms and service expansion.
  • Datacenter operation, and the creation of rules and flowcharts related to operation
Required Skills And Abilities
  • Japanese / English bilingual - Speak Japanese and business level English required.
  • Experience with datacenter network configuration and operation.
  • Knowledge of Network equipment (switches, routers) and experience with design, configuration, and operation of such equipment.
  • Basic understanding of typical protocols used in datacenters, such as BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of, and experience using Linux and Network Stack.
  • Specialized knowledge regarding cabling and Network hardware, transceivers, etc.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple persons using Git and/or GitHub.
  • Ability to communicate asynchronously using online platforms like Slack (will need to communicate with person in the US, as well as persons in Japan, accounting for time differences where appropriate).
  • Certified CompTIA, Microsoft, or Cisco network professional preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of network connectivity, technologies, protocols, and security.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Great organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Skills And Abilities
  • Knowledge of IP Clos, and configuration/operation experience.
  • Experience configuring and operating large scale Networks.
  • Experience using Network configuration automation tools (Network maker tools, Ansible, etc.)
  • Development/Operation experience using Python or Go.
  • Experience using monitoring system such as Prometheus, Grafana.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or comparable experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Network Engineering or IT field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Network Specialist.
  • Compensation will depend on experience
