Description:
We are currently seeking Water Resources Engineers and Hydrogeologists for water-related projects in our Daly City, Davis, Irvine, and Oakland offices and in the Greater Seattle area. The ideal candidate will support ongoing projects with clients throughout California and Washington from initial project planning through feasibility analyses, design, implementation, and completion. Projects include Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) compliance and implementation, groundwater basin characterization, water budgets and water accounting frameworks, groundwater-flow and constituent transport modeling, water transfer support, water supply planning, production well design, indirect and direct potable reuse planning, litigation support, and more.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, working with a team of engineers and scientists to:
Develop and/or implement hydrogeologic conceptual models, water balances, and numerical models.
Prepare reports and studies, including SGMA-compliant groundwater sustainability plans; water supply assessments and urban water management plans; and/or water supply strategies, integrated plans, water transfers, and water conservation programs.
Prepare well-written documents and effective presentations that communicate complex technical problems in an effective and efficient manner to a broad audience.
Support project managers and staff with the preparation of project schedules and tracking of budgets, deliverables, and progress reports.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Strong technical knowledge in numerical groundwater modeling, water resources planning, data management and visualization, and technical writing.
Minimum of 2 years of experience, with 5 or more years desirable, as an engineer, planner, or hydrogeologist for water resources projects.
Knowledge of California groundwater and water planning regulations, including SGMA, Urban Water Management Planning Act, and/or Senate Bill 610 requirements.
Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
Ability to multi-task, stay organized, work independently and collaborate with various project teams.
BS and/or MS (preferred) in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field.
Experience with ArcGIS, MODFLOW, Python, R, MODFLOW6, IWFM, and PEST and Microsoft Access preferred.
Valid driver’s license.
A strong desire to grow personally as well as professionally.
