The Reactor is typically modeled in ANSYS with time-based inputs to predict the response of the system. Evaluations are highly non-linear and support ASME Vessel code analyses. Work scopes are typically controlled by NRC approved or long-standing accepted methodologies, align with ASME code analyses. Evaluation techniques have been automated using scripting and other techniques.
Essential Responsibilities
• Work scope includes the following essential responsibilities:
• Perform linear and non-linear dynamic structural evaluation to predict system responses and resulting loads (and other similar analyses) for reactor systems and internals components. Demonstrated understanding of the dynamic response of structures
• Creation and evaluation of analysis models using ANSYS and ANSYS APDL as well as other similar numerical simulation codes.
• Review archive records and evaluate the impact of design/operational changes on the conclusions within those archive records.
