Description:

***Travel is required, 20%-40% travel to customer sites per year depending on project scope, travel is typically less than 1 week, no more than 2 weeks at a time***

The Mechanical Engineer will work on projects to support manufacturers in the glass, metals and heavy manufacturing sectors.

The project engineer will provide sound, unique, and comprehensive design solutions to complex projects.

Will work as part of a multi-disciplined engineering design team including designers, drafters, process engineers, electrical or controls engineering teams, project managers, etc..

• Perform mechanical engineering on glass and, metals manufacturing process and attached utility systems.
• Perform as the lead engineer for the mechanical discipline on engineering projects project.
• Direct the design of other engineers, designers and sub-contractors to support his/her effort.
• gather specs from the field and from the client to develop a design package to be preformed by mechanical designers
• develop a scope of work and schedule tasks with engineers
• Coordinate with other disciplines leads on multi-discipline projects to drive the team to a successful project completion.
• Work closely with clients to understand and facilitate the design and construction of their process.
• Travel to client facilities and provide on site technical help working with contractors.
• Travel to client facilities for gathering of field data.

Qualifications:

• 8 - 15 years of mechanical engineer experience post-degree. not including co-ops
• 3 years experience with project engineering or project management
• Ability to manage project budget, scope, schedule, and work under tight deadlines
• AutoCad 2D experience is required
• Minimum Education of a Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering is required (MUST BE ABET accredited)
• INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE must come from a glass, chemical, or metals foundry manufacturing environment. alternatively we will always consider candidates that come from an engineering consulting experience. Think industries that will be transporting liquid or molten materials using "process piping"

PREFERRED:

• Experience working as an engineering consultant supporting multiple industries is highly preferred but not required
• 15 years of mechanical engineering experience
• PE license or EI/EIT
• Solidworks or inventor for 3d modeling
• Self starter with minimal oversight in execution of work.
• Experience in design of air systems, fans, ducting and dampers, design of combustion systems, and design of cooling water and piping systems.
• Experience in machine design or modifications would also be beneficial, but not required
