Job Title: Resident Engineer

Description:

The Resident Engineer will be working on a NYC Parks Program called "Street Tree Planting" OR "Trees and Sidewalks". The Engineer will be working closely with the PM on coordinating and allocating the correct amount of team members onsite. As well as making sure safety procedures are being followed, recording and tracking measurements for pay items, collaborate with both Parks Department and contractors. This person can expect to travel 20-40 sites in a day (5-10 miles apart/travel will be reimbursed)

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 7am-3:30pm/4pm

Must Have:

• Bachelors in civil engineering, landscape architecture, construction management, ecology, environmental engineering
• 1 year experience working on a construction site (including internships)
• Any experience working on green infrastructure, landscaping, tree inspection, parks, root inspection, or understanding of soils
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
• Vehicle to get to work
• Ability to work independently with little supervision

Responsibilities:

- Coordinate with PM on where to go for work day

- Meet Superintendent at job site assigned

- Observe contractors on site

- Coordinate with PM to ensure contractors are onsite

- Ensure safety procedures are being followed

- Collaborate with Parks Department and contractors

- Use spec book and understand contents

- Record and track measurements for pay items (contractor gets paid based on amount of trees planted and excavation)

- All activities will be done on land level

**No climbing, no work on active roadways, and no pruning of trees involved**
