Description:
Client is looking for a Project Manager to help manage their projects with their clients. Project Manager would take project ownership from quote hand-off to project closure, responsible for all related activities performed by multi-disciplined cross functional teams within IMG (i.e Design, Eng, Build, Installation). Each PM can manage appx 4-5 different projects and most projects take 6-8 months to complete once they get the PO. Projects range from $1 million - $4 million in revenue. Most projects they bid on are fixed cost and when changes are required they add on cost.
• This position is responsible for planning, tracking and delivering projects based upon predetermined timing and budget to ensure customer satisfaction
• The Project Manager will lead a team of associates to deliver a project based both upon internal and external metrics.
• As the customer’s main point of contact, the project manager will spend most of their time communicating and facilitating the design and build process and ensuring on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Establish and maintain the project schedule using Microsoft Project and hold regular project meetings to monitor progress and identify any action items needed to maintain the project schedule.
• Initiate and develop open issues matrix.
• Track and route material purchased for the project to insure efficient procurement.
· Lead Design Reviews internally and with the customer
• Work with Mechanical and Controls Design to implement cost effective construction techniques.
• Work with the Builders on the floor to resolve any open issues.
• Influence manufacturing decisions that affect project completion or project budget.
• Assure that the project is properly staffed and that the timely flow of information between all parties is maintained.
TRAVEL:
Travel will be up to 30% of the time. Most of the time they will need to travel during launch for 1-2 weeks at a time.
HOURS:
40-50 hours per week
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
MUST Haves:
- 5 years of experience managing projects from cradle to grave either as an Engineer or Project Manager
- 5 years of experience with tooling, assembly systems, or automation systems
- Previous experience managing timelines of projects and budgets; focus on what it takes to close a job out (see screening questions)
- Previous experience using MS Project to manage projects
- Previous experience managing a customer
Nice to Have:
- Body shop/Mechanical Joining experience
