Construction Project Engineer

Actalent is hiring for a Full Time Project Engineer to support a local GC. Company is a small general contractor focusing on smaller renovation and new build projects. Jobs are typically in the 100k to 15m range, and could last anywhere from 1 week to a few months.

Job Description:

The Project Engineer is an early-career position with robust growth opportunity. This position will work with multiple account managers, estimators, office manager and superintendents as needed across multiple projects. Ultimately responsible for document control, including correspondence to owner/architects, subcontractors, and field associates. The Project Engineer will also assist in managing projects and developing estimates.

Responsibilities:

Assist account managers and estimators with the following:

• Strict adherence to L/D safety practices and procedures.
• Contacting subcontractors and vendors during bid process.
• Project scope of work development.
• Project planning and implementation of activities.
• Document management and logging including safety documentation, submittals, drawing logs, RFIs, transmittals, close out documents, meeting minutes.
• Subcontractor and superintendent coordination.
• Travel to jobsites as required by AM and/or superintendents, including possibly out of State.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• H.S. Diploma or GED required
• Ability to be a positive and effective day to date on site leader of construction projects
• OSHA 10 hour required and 30 hour preferred (will train on 30 hour if needed)
• Knowledge of basic technology (email, mobile phones, digital photos)
• Ability to communicate effectively to owners and contractors
• Proactive and positive attitude
• Basic knowledge of all trades
• Project Management skills with hands-on approach
• Ability to diagnose and fix minor repairs
• PPE - individual needs to be a safety first kind of individual - that is a core value of the company
