UDC is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Project Control Analyst to support our project management team with the activities related to UDC’s GIS consulting, systems integration, data acquisition, staff augmentation, and other professional services projects. The Project Control Analyst will report to the Project Finance Manager.

Location: Near UDC’s Englewood, CO or Waukesha, WI office preferred 

What you will do

Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Support the Project Finance Team and Project Managers by preparing project creation requests for new and active projects in the Professional Services Automation (PSA) system. This will require reviewing Statements of Work (SOW), Task Orders and schedules to identify contract information for project set-up such as:
  • Contract type and total revenue
  • T&M rate tables and fixed fee billing terms
  • Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and schedule to determine time charging tasks, resource bookings, utilization projections, and resource requests
  • Fixed fee milestone, revenue value, and estimated completion dates
  • Maintain project labor forecasts throughout the course of a project
  • Review reports for Project Managers analyze their projects in the PSA system
  • Helps maintain consistent use of PSA by all system users by providing support, training, and guidance
  • Prepares, tracks and analyzes project status, resource planning and resource utilization reports
  • Assist Project Managers with budget set up in compliance with the Project Finance department requirements
  • Create and maintain task bookings for all active projects
  • Performs centralized PSA processes to ensure consistency across projects and the organization
  • Initiate project invoicing and assist project managers with timesheet approval
  • Review month-end project financial reports including:
  • Actual versus planned labor
  • Expenses
  • Material costs
  • Billings
  • Assist Project Managers with researching and tracking financial and other variances
  • Assists in new project setup and approves booked resources in OpenAir
  • Analyzes customer contracts for key data to be used in the PSA System
  • Assist Project Managers and Account Managers with proposal schedule creation and estimating spreadsheet inputs

What we look for from you

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field and 3-5 years of related experience
  • Familiarity with stages of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Familiarity of theoretical and practical aspects of project management techniques and tools
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proven data analysis and reconciliation experience
  • Excellent customer service, time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Power BI and PSA systems, required

Preferred, but not required:

  • Familiarity with sales pipeline management
  • Experience with MS Project
  • SharePoint experience
  • Gas and electric utility project experience

Compensation Range: $60,000-$65,000/annually
