Position Title: Professional Land Surveyor

Position Overview:

This role is being added to our company in an exciting time of growth. Our services have been requested for multiple projects in Massachusetts, but before we are in a position to accept them, we need to add a Licensed Land Surveyor for the state of Massachusetts. This employee will be at the front of our growth in Massachusetts and will also have a team built out around them

Schedule: 

• 60% office, 40% Field, there is an expectation to have field work decrease as a team is built out.
• M-F, Hours are flexible to meet needs, OT available
• Office work can be completed at home, there is no requirement to go into the office

Position Description:

• The Professional Land Surveyor plans and conducts work requiring judgement in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria
• Embraces new approaches to problems encountered, and is required to perform projects to acceptable quality standards on time and within budget
• Accountable for demonstrating and overseeing standard procedures to assure the production of high-quality deliverables and that work is consistent with the client’s expectations
• The Professional Land Surveyor will provide experience in all areas of land surveying
• Work includes participation in the project scoping process, land records research and interpretation, and occasional field work
• Provide technical oversite for all land surveying services including boundary surveys, utility surveys, construction layout, topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, and subdivisions
• Project scoping for preparation of proposals
• Conducting research of public and private land records
• Preparing and maintaining sketches, maps, and reports of legal descriptions of surveys
• Verification of data, calculations, and CAD drafting
• Writing property boundary descriptions

Position Requirements:

• License for the State of Massachusetts
• Boundary and Topographic Surveys, Hydrologic Surveys, Bridges, As-built Surveys, Stakeout for Construction, Land Records Research
• Robotic instrument experience is needed
• Good problem solving abilities in both field and office
• Ability to interact well with team, staff, clients and subcontractors
