Actalent is currently hiring Mechanical Engineers in the Kansas City area who are interested in a career with the automotive industry. Qualified candidates must have a four year engineering degree with high level mechanical aptitude. Experience working in manufacturing with a focus on quality and/or process improvement is highly preferred. Description:

Responsible for reviewing warranty data and identifying the root cause of the issue. This will involve looking at the manufacturing process, design, package and supplier quality.

• Maintain sub-system and quality documents and drive toward the achievement of quality targets.
• Lead engineering design changes for future minor product launches.
• Support Variability Reduction Team (VRT) for specific sub-systems and work closely with Supplier partners for sub-system components to address quality concerns.
• Lead engineering trials and the implementation of running changes for the sub-system.
• Issue engineering alerts and initiate and pursue authorization of engineering Concerns for product changes to support quality objectives.
• Engage technical experts and functional team members for driving resolution and in developing corrective actions to improve product quality.

ME, Manufacturing, Process improvement, New product development, Root cause analysis

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• 1-2 years of experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, internship experience considered.
• Experience with quality and manufacturing processes is preferred.
