Description:
gross examination
triage specimen
handle high complexity testing
Performing frozen section techniques on cryostat
prepare specimen for histology technicians to embed and stain for pathologists
cut specimen
exam specimen
take sections and describe specimen into the voice brook dictation system
update EPIC for Electronic Medical Record
work with colons, kidneys, breast, GYN and prostate cancer samples
support 30-50 specimens on average per day
Skills:
anatomic pathology, clinical laboratory, Ascp, NCA
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
BS in life science (biology or chemistry)
Graduate from pathologist assistant program OR grandfathered into the role with 10 years experience without degree OR foreign MD
hospital laboratory experience in high complexity testing
