Mechanical Design Project Engineer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• The Project Engineer will be responsible for the engineering design of HVAC systems, as well as the overall MEP engineering design, construction administration, and project management for a number of institutional clients.
• The role will require the performance of load calculations, site surveys, design review, preparation of detailed engineering drawings and schematics, as well as field inspections for MEP systems.
• The projects will be primarily for government and institutional clients with an focus on the HVAC/MEP design and the Project Engineer will be responsible for taking ownership of the projects from design all the way through construction.
• This is a hybrid position - occasional site visits (about 1 a week), and go to the office in Bohemia 2 days per week.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

• Estimating on projects would be a plus
• 4 years in Mechanical Design Engineering, specifically in HVAC or Plumbing projects
• 4 years' experience in AutoCAD designing
• Proficient with building codes and guidelines such as NYS Energy Code, NYS Mechanical Code, NYS Building Code, and NFPA.

Education

• Bachelor's degree required.

Licenses & Certifications

• EIT or PE would be a plus.
