Looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a growing team for a large Satellite program as they move to the production phase of their mission!

In this role, this individual will be:

• Working with contract manufacturers for Amazon supporting their PCBA assembly group and taking ownership of projects for process flow
• Working with the planning team to create PCBA routings as well as adding work instructions in the routings for assembly instructions
• Experience supporting PCB's assemblies and builds as well as process improvements for design for manufacturability
• Will be visiting sites in California, Portland, and Redmond

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Work with the design engineering to identify and escalate manufacturing challenges by enforcing Design for Manufacturing DFM principles
• Investigate and develop new manufacturing technology and develop methodologies to enhance product quality, reliability, and production efficiency
• Conduct regular build quality reviews to ensure that design intent is achieved. Identify opportunities for risk reduction, simplification, and manufacturing process improvements.
• Develop manufacturing processes at the contract manufacturers and suppliers, including defining jig/fixture requirements, critical dimensions on parts, and critical requirements in the fabrication/assembling process
• Actively monitor the success of products and processes through production ramp. Provide regular reports status of PCBAs progress from design to production.
• During pre-production builds, drive all factory-related operational issues related to Surface Mount Technology (SMT), sub-assembly and final assembly processes; ensure effective closure to enable operational success of the new product introduction cycle, and bring products into volume production
• Work within Operations, H/W and PD Engineering departments to implement and optimize manufacturing 1st pass yields and efficiency from prototype through product ramp
• Conduct regular build quality reviews to ensure that design intent is achieved. Identify opportunities for risk reduction, simplification, and manufacturing process improvements.
• Investigate failures in production, test and integration. identify and mitigate underlying root causes in order to reduce risk and improve reliability of designs and processes.
• Contain suspect or known non-conforming materials and assemblies
• Provide direction to contract manufacturing, suppliers, and engineers to manage quarantine and rework activities
