Description:
This Manufacturing Engineer is a liaison role to the client's Ohio plant. There will be liaison in each plant (one for plastics, one for paint, etc.) and the Engineers will identify issues in their specified area – i.e., analyzing plastics characteristics, defects, gaps, efficiencies, and building counter measures to correct them. All the plastics point people will work with each other and Ohio leadership to identify these issues around plastics, provide potential solutions and counter measures – sometimes this solutions may come from this MCS plastics area or another plastics MCS person or Ohio. There will be a lot of communication and presentation to ensure everyone is aligned and knows the issues that are being seen in Plastics and what potential remedies and work-arounds are happening and if they can use solutions or make bigger requests for larger solutions. For example, there are issues with certain plastic molds – are there defects happening, what is causing it – people, machines, etc. – what is the solution at your plant and knowing how other plants are handling issue if it’s happening there and if it can be remedy with other’s solutions or it’s a bigger issue and requires a proposal to get a solution.
This role is not really about new model development, this is really about the Plastics Department and how that department can be improved to meet the plastics standards so sometimes it can have a little process engineering but someone has to understand plastics.
Ideally the team is looking for Bumper Paint Robot knowledge. This person has to understand how the quality of plastics and plastic injection equipment in regards plastic injection attributes / features / characteristics
Must Haves:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Manufacturing Engineering Preferred)
- 8-15 years of relevant engineering work experience (focused in the Plastics category)
- Previous plastic experience and understanding of the quality of plastics and plastic injection equipment in regards to plastic injection attributes / features / characteristics
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot and investigate issues with plastics.
- Superior communication skills (huge part of this role) as they will be making presentations with Excel and PowerPoint and there is reporting and a lot of cross functional work with other plants
- Strong time management skills and self-disciplined
