Actalent is Hiring a Laboratory Technician Near Warwick, RI

This job involves testing and inspecting products at different stages of the manufacturing process. It also includes collecting and analyzing statistical data to ensure the quality and reliability of the products. Additionally, the role requires matching colors and testing the disposability of new raw materials.

Description:

  • Perform routine sample preparation and analysis of incoming and in-process materials including approval/rejection of material based on results of this testing.

•Perform chemical analysis by using various laboratory instruments, including gravimetric, ICP, and XRF.

•Perform metallurgical testing as required (i.e. micro-section preparation, hardness and mechanical property testing such as tensile and resistance) utilizing metallurgical equipment.

•Provide direct feedback to Metal Casting operations, providing melt charge calculations for heat corrections to meet desired element target objectives.

•Maintain laboratory records and databases.

•Maintain good housekeeping and safe work habits in accordance with Lean and 5S

•Prepare Certificate of Analysis for outgoing material.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Test all materials as assigned before shipment.
  • Completes and maintains QC test sheets for all products tested in a neat manner.
  • Sets daily plan for optimal use of testing equipment.
  • Set daily plan based on the manufacturing backlog.
  • Release material that has passed testing.
  • Maintain customer cert files.
  • Prepares Certificates of Analysis

Requirements:

Bachelors 0

Associates 2

High School Diploma or GED equivalent 4

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
