Actalent is Hiring a Lab Technician Near Westlake, OH
Description:
- Candidate may perform any number of the tasks below in a research lab including a pilot line that creates prototype batteries for Energizer in their R&D department.
- The main function of this candidate is to be an assistant to the R&D team at Energizer. Their day to day functions will be variable but could include:
• Taking dimensional measurements with drop gauges
• Making cross sections (Common in SEM industry / Microscopy, cutting the battery in half, setting in epoxy microscope slide)
• Tearing down batteries in a controlled way (failure analysis)
• Taking microscope pictures
• Taking measurements on microscope pictures with the help of software
• Putting data in excel sheets
• Supporting R&D team in traying batteries
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
MUST HAVES:
1. MUST HAVE basic computer knowledge and navigation capability, must have experience with Microsoft office - word, excel, teams, and Outlook
2. MUST HAVE experience in working in a lab
3. MUST HAVE experience in working with a microscope
4. MUST HAVE EITHER experience working in a laboratory either in industry or college
5. MUST HAVE experience or coursework related to chemistry, sciences, mathematics, prefer a candidate who has an associates or has done some college coursework in a STEM field
6. MUST HAVE some knowledge of proper chemical handling safety procedures
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
1. prefer a candidate who has an associates or has done some college coursework in a STEM field (concerned about burnout if they are in school full time and at work)
2. ability to interpret shop manuals, schematics, and work instructions
3. strong attention to detail
