Job Title: Specimen Handler/Lab Assistant
Job Description
As a Specimen Handler, your main responsibility will be to transport specimens in the lab following a strict quality regulation and prescribed SOP. You will take samples from processors after labeling and bring them to the handling area. Your tasks will also include moving samples to the centrifuging area, supporting urine pour offs prior to testing, and transporting samples between buildings. You will be responsible for multi-tasking between different specimen handling functions, preparing SST specimens for RSA and/or for manual pour-off, placing specimens in centrifuge for spinning, and documenting all issues into the log book. You will be expected to communicate any problems to upper management and sort processed specimens into racks for delivery into the lab by pour off groups.

- Ability to stand for entirety of shift
- Comfortable lifting 25 pounds
- Multi-task between different specimen handling functions
- Understanding and adherence to strict quality regulations and SOP

- Ability to carry and push at least 30 pounds around laboratory
- Comfortable handling human samples
Schedule
- Monday to Friday (10pm - 6:30am) with rotating Saturdays.
- Training will be provided for 2 weeks on the same schedule.
