Overview:

Under close supervision, help performs specialized techniques for histology studies. Help coverslip slides utilizing manual or automatic

systems. Responsible for filing and retrieval of tissue blocks or slides. Washes and sterilizes glassware and mixes solutions. Documents daily QA/QC

charts for laboratory equipment.

Job Description: 

• Maintains diagnostic viability of all specimens, and ensures correct patient labeling of all materials.
• Under close supervision, checks surgical case number and verifies on worksheet.
• Prepares all reagents, buffers and stains utilized in laboratory and maintain acceptable working volumes.
• Organizes slides for distribution

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in biological/physical science or equivalent, with courses in immunology and histology or equivalent training.
• 2-3 years experience in appropriate laboratory setting in electron microscopy analysis, and histology training in specimen fixation, sectioning and imbedding preferred but not required.

Hours: 

• Monday - Friday 8:30AM - 5PM
