DESCRIPTION:

The company makes parts for the Aerospace industry, mainly the military.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for creating formulations of metals, titanium and other alloys.
• Updating chemistry controls and managing a statistical database through excel and “Formulate”
• Provide formulation guides (SOPs) and aims for current and future melts
• Manage the flow or raw materials and consumption
• Work with have a direct report of a formulator
• Maximize scrap and be in charge of reducing costs
• Handle quality checks and standards
• Use excel to make formulations, run charts for chemistries, run macros, track quality standards, and product trends.
• Manage the demands of the planning group
• Select when products go through the plant
• Create product schedules and determine when mixes go through the furnace and are cured

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry or mathematics or equivalent degree
• Visual Basic Programming - moderate level
• At least 5 years of experience in chemistry control
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (Must know how to make charts, run macros, Formulate, create formulas, tables)
