Description:
seeking an experienced Design Engineer with a current SECRET clearance, verifiable in DISS in Washington, DC to support the PMS 300/325 program and provide SME expertise for technical and design engineering efforts.
Responsibilities:
As a Design Engineer supporting the Naval shipbuilding industry, you will play a pivotal role in providing engineering and technical expertise throughout various phases of ship design and construction. Your responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to, the following:
Conduct engineering and technical analysis for concept studies and feasibility studies related to ship design and systems.
Collaborate in contract design activities and detail design, ensuring precision and adherence to technical requirements.
Participate in independent design reviews to evaluate and improve design proposals.
Contribute to in-service ship design and engineering activities, incorporating upgrades and modifications as required.
Offer technical support during shipboard installation, ensuring proper integration of design elements.
Engage in special studies focused on enhancing ship systems, equipment, and operational efficiency.
Additional Duties:
Utilize expertise in naval architecture to optimize ship design and stability.
Provide comprehensive marine engineering support for propulsion, HVAC, and related ship systems.
Collaborate with electrical engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within ship designs.
Apply mechanical engineering principles to design and improve ship systems and components.
Ensure effective integration of Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) and Command, Control, Communications, Computers & Intelligence (C4I) systems.

Minimum Skill Sets of Qualified Candidates:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in DoD/DoN program management, Government technical management, or Industry business management.
Active Secret Clearance verifiable in DISS.
Experience with Navy procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process); experience communicating with SES/Flag level personnel; supervisory experience.
Preferred Skill Sets of Qualified Candidates:
Master's degree in Engineering.
Professional Engineer License.
15 years of experience in DoD/DoN program management, Government technical management, or Industry business management.
