Description:

Utz is the go-to company for reusable packaging and storage containers - some of their customers include: Toyota, Disney, H&M, Eli Lilly, and Carhart. This Design Engineer will be responsible for working with the project manager and customers to design and develop injection molded and thermoformed products for their customers. The candidate will be involved from ideation to completion and will work with the customer to determine container specifications, evaluate customer container blueprints, 3D print prototypes, and present designs/prototypes to customers. Once given the green-light from the customers, the candidate will work with mold and tooling department to run the design through a 3rd party to verify that the design meets the exact customer specifications before going into production. About 70% of this engineers time will be spend in the design process (primarily new products, some revisions to existing products), the other 30% of this engineer's time will be spent meeting with customers, machinists, prototyping, etc.The Design Engineer positions will have one focus on thermoformed product design and the other focus on injection molded product design. The thermoforming engineer will primarily use solidworks - the ideal candidate will have some experience post school. The injection mold engineer will primarily use NX & Team Center - the ideal candidate would have experience tied to plastics industry or injection molding, fea and mold flow analysis.
