Job Description Controls Engineer or Technologist - Industrial

One of our biggest industrial based clients is currently on the hunt to add an additional Control Systems Engineer to provide automation solutions to their customers. We are one of the biggest and most renowned industrial systems integrators in the lower mainland, having relationships with many different companies, projects, industries, and sectors. These range from water and wastewater, mining, port automation, lumber/pulp&paper, baggage handling, rail/transit, and more. With clients in both Canada and USA, this person will have the opportunity to get exposure, training and mentorship is multiple different areas. This role will heavily involve controls and automation engineering, design and programming, primarily with PLC’s, HMI’s and VFD’s. This will be mostly an office role, collaborating with controls engineers, electrical designers/engineers and other disciplinaries. That being said, there will be times where site visits are necessary to assist with technicians for commissioning and troubleshooting purposes. We are looking for an enthusiastic, well spoken and motivated individual who wants to develop professionally in their career. In the future you will have the opportunity to get trained and develop to move into lead, project engineering, project management or operational management positions.

MUST HAVES:

Electrical, Systems, Mechatronics Engineering or Technologist program

3 years direct industrial, mining or process plant experience.

3 years of PLC programming experience with Allen Bradley or Schneider PLC's.

3 years working and developing with HMI's (Wonderware, FactoryTalk, Ignition)

3 years working on site direct with clients

NICE TO HAVE:

P.Eng designation

2 years programming and troubleshooting PLC's

2 years working with CAD software

Project Management experience
