Actalent is Hiring a Controls Designer Near Santa Clarita, CA

Description:

• Program show control systems fabricated or procured by Technifex (TFX).• Design, review, and interpret electrical and electronic blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.• Develop daily and weekly plans/goals for task and resource management.• Conduct daily inspections to ensure all assigned work meets quality control standards.• Comply with all regulatory safety and company policies.• Comply with client contractual standards.• Maintain workstations and assigned shop areas in a clean and presentable manner.• Proactively communicate work progress with Production Manager and Project Manager, informing of any schedule, safety, or other concerns.• Manage time efficiently to complete assigned tasks.• Collaborate with internal team members.• Develop thorough knowledge of TFX products.• Enthusiasm for continued learning, desire to learn new software programs and develop skill sets.• Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus.• Supervise, train, and develop staff.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Excellent problem-solving skills.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Skilled in operating hand and power tools, soldering and fault-testing equipment.• Skilled with using tools and equipment used for electrical fabrication.• Skilled with UL508A standards.• Advanced understanding of electrical, controls, and electronic principles.• Basic working knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).• Availability and willingness to travel domestically and abroad for potentially extended lengths of time. • Expertise in drafting/reading AutoCAD assembly and schematic drawings.• Self-motivated, positive, and enthusiastic team player• Able to perform ordinary walking, climbing, standing, frequent lifting up to 35 lbs., and occasional assisted lifting up to 60 lbs.Required:• Minimum of 3 years’ control system design experience (5-10 years preferred), preferably within the themed entertainment industry• PLC & HMI programming experienceDesired:• Experience with Flame Effects, Special Effects or Show Action Equipment a plus• 2 years AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks drafting experience• Electrical, technical, or related vocational training• Associates degree (or higher)
