Description:

In this position, the engineering technician will be involved with field observation, inspecting, and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt placement. Daily communication is required with site contractors, other technicians, and project managers. The candidate should have the ability to perform observations, inspections, and tests of construction projects and to document findings in accordance with accepted engineering practice.

Following inspections, the individual will be expected to turn in daily, weekly, and monthly reports to verify the data collected in the field.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2 Years of Experience (Recent)
• Field Experience vs. Lab
• Residential, Commercial, or Industrial Experience
• Certifications (ACI Certification Preferred)
• Soils Experience Ned, Concrete Is a Plus
• Clean Driving Record
• Strong Written Verbal Communication Skills
• Intermediate Level Computer Skills

The ideal candidate will come from a materials testing/special inspection background that has been working in the field for a minimum 2 years.

Other Certifications Include:

• NC DOT
• ICC (Structural, Concrete Masonry etc..)
• NICET
• TROXLER
• QMS

Potential Job Titles: (CMT, Inspector, Special Inspector, Construction Materials Inspector, CEI, Engineering Technician)

Potential Certifications: (ACI, ICC, NICET, NCDOT, QMS, TROXLER)
