Actalent Engineering is seeking qualified candidates for a Mechanical Designer opening, working within the electronics industry, located in Lancaster, PA. This person will be responsible for creating engineering drawings using a combination of SolidWorks and AutoCAD to assist in the design and manufacturing of a variety of electronic products. The designer will work under the direction of engineers and will provide 3D models for use by the engineers for part manufacturing.

Below is a summary of responsibilities for this position:

• Create 3D Models, develop design layouts, and prepare associated 2D manufacturing drawings of components, assemblies & tools using primarily SolidWorks CAD software but the successful candidate may also use AutoCAD software and be capable of converting drawings from one format to the other.
• Prepare & review drawings and other documents with accuracy, conformance to product requirements, manufacturability and compliance with company drafting practices and procedures.
• Prepare & process revisions to models & drawings following company document change control procedures.
• Write product specifications and procedures.
• Select catalog parts and create bills of material.
• Communicate designs and manufacturing requirements to manufacturing personnel, technicians and assemblers.

Below is a summary of requirements for qualified candidates:

• Associate's Degree in Engineering CAD Technology, Mechanical Drafting/Design, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• 1 year of professional experience in mechanical drafting and design
• Ability to receive a US Secret Clearance/work on ITAR regulated projects
• Experience working within the electronics industry is preferred but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
