Under the medical direction of the pathologist and under the administrative direction of the Technical Manager or site Manager, the Cytotechnologist is a clinical laboratory practitioner who, pursuant to established and approved protocols of the NYS Department of Health, performs cytological procedures which require the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility, as determined by the department. May have frequent contact with patients, hospital employees, physicians, pathologists, nursing personnel, visitors, laboratory personnel, vendors, regulatory or accrediting agencies and students. Other duties as assigned. Main responsibility is: High complexity testing.

• Must have NYS license (NYSDOH)- REQUIRED
• Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology, or related area. - REQUIRED
• New York State Department of Education license or a limited permit - REQUIRED
