Our Opportunity

The selected individual will review and analyze outside processing purchasing requirements. They will monitor the cost, schedule and scope of assigned purchase orders. They will also update daily production reports with status on purchase orders. They will also work with the maintenance manager to assist with clerical duties.

Essential Duties

The selected individual will:

  • Reviews and analyzes Purchase Requisitions daily.
  • Prepares and processes Requests for Quotes to Vendors/ Suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing with Vendors/ Suppliers to minimize costs.
  • Coordinate incoming materials delivered to suppliers.
  • Generates Purchase Orders based on approved Purchase Requisitions and distribute to Vendors/ Suppliers.
  • Coordinates purchasing activities with Manufacturing, Planning and Engineering departments to acquire inventory and supplies in a cost effective and timely manner.
  • Acquire new Vendors/ Suppliers to achieve cost reduction initiatives. 
  • Follow up with Vendors/ Suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and obtain recovery dates for past due orders.
  • Update ERP Order Status report for Management visibility.
  • Monitors supplier performance (Price, Delivery and Quality) and initiates corrective actions, where appropriate. 
  • Responsible for input, accuracy and integrity of ERP procurement data (i.e. lead time, unit prices, and other critical planning parameters).
  • Performs periodic onsite visits to key suppliers for surveillance and follow up.

 Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • 2-4 years of purchasing experience preferably in a manufacturing, machining and maintenance supply background.
  • Proficiency with an ERP system.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (must be fluent in English)
  • Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

A High School Diploma/GED with advance education towards a Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business, Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing is preferred.
