Job Summary: We are currently looking to add to our team with an exciting opportunity as Sr. Manager of Consolidation Accounting. The Sr. Manager of Consolidation Accounting role is key in the timely and accurate preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements, working closely with the Consolidation team to account for domestic results each month as well as Corporate Accounting and Finance teams to include international results and consolidated adjustments. The month-end close process under the purview of the Sr. Manager of Consolidation Accounting includes journal entry approval, explanation of key variances, balance sheet account reconciliations and culminates in the preparation of the monthly financial review (MFR) package distributed to executives each month. This role is responsible for leading and managing the Consolidation team. Oversight of this team includes assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the team, determining capacity constraints and hiring recommendations as needed, providing guidance and training to team members and annual performance reviews. This includes ensuring all duties of the team are completed accurately and timely. The ideal candidate must be hands-on, have excellent organizational skillset and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. We are a relationship-oriented business, and strong relationship and partnering skills are vital to this role. Previous leadership experience in accounting is required. Experience in the insurance brokerage or a related industry is preferred. Responsibilities: Provides oversight of Consolidation accounting team and team deliverables, including journal entries, account analyses and reconciliations. Manages the monthly close and consolidation process of the consolidated financial statements. Responsible for the preparation of the monthly financial review (MFR) package and adherence to U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies. Responsible for consolidated accounting processes, including management of monthly account reconciliations and certifications, and maintenance of fixed asset and lease accounting. Responsible for extending accounting support to Vendor Payables and Payroll teams to enhance processes and reconciliations. Provides prompt, accurate, courteous, “best in class” service to ABS Accounting team members, leadership team and all staff. *This description is not meant to be all-inclusive and may be modified at the discretion of management. Requirements: Prior leadership experience required. Able to work independently and enjoy a high degree of interaction with team members. Maintain a sense of urgency and ability to work with and meet deadlines. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication, including the ability actively listen, and problem solve with minimal assistance. Demonstrates excellent time management and prioritization skills. Attention to detail and commitment to a high level of accuracy. The ability to multitask, prioritize, work independently, and use discretion surrounding sensitive information in a time critical, fast-paced environment. Maintains a professional demeanor and positive attitude. Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree or the recognized equivalent in education and experience required. Minimum (5) five years of experience in accounting, auditing and/or financial analysis required. Insurance brokerage/related industry accounting background preferred. Prior experience with balance sheet reconciliations required. Prior experience working with both the income statement and balance sheet required. Prior variance analysis experience required. A working knowledge of insurance-based management systems (i.e., AMS360, Epic, Applied TAM) is highly desired. Working knowledge of general ledger systems (Workday preferred).
